This will be the last weekend of naturalist programs at Branbury State Park! After this week I will begin posting schedules for guided hikes into the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have!
Thursday 08/31
10:30 am – 12:30 pm: Make an Herbarium Journal
Bring your own notebook, use one provided, or make one at the nature center and get started on your very own herbarium journal! Join in on collecting and identifying plants while learning how to preserve them and keep them in your notebooks to use for identifying the plants around you.
1 – 4: Lakeside Watercolors
Sit by the lake and practice your art skills by drawing the environment around you and learning about botanical drawing
Friday 09/01

1 - 4: What Floats Your Boat?
Create a boat out of natural materials found around the park and see if your boat can float the longest!
Saturday 09/02

1 - 4: Lake Chemistry
Complete some water sampling of Lake Dunmore and learn about the importance of turbidity, pH levels, and temperature to having a successful lake ecosystem!
Sunday 09/03
10:30 am – 4 pm: Maple Dendrology/maple syrup tasting
Learn about how to identify maple trees and try some local syrup of different grades!
