You've seen those big trucks laden with logs lumbering through town. You've seen 2x4's in stacks at building supply stores. Now you can see how those logs are turned into those 2x4's, from debarking to cutting and planing to kiln drying. The Windham Regional Woodlands Association (WRWA) is hosting a tour of the Cersosimo Lumber Company mill at 5:30 pm on Thursday, Aug 31. Cersosimo is a local firm, started in 1947 and now grown to be one of the largest producers of hardwood and white pine lumber in New England, and it is headquartered right here in Brattleboro.
Meet in the parking lot at the Cersosimo plant at 1103 Vernon St in Brattleboro. You don't have to be a WRWA member to come on the free tour, but you do have wear sensible shoes. No open toes! WRWA is grateful to Cersosimo for hosting this always popular event. Jeff Hardy will be leading the tour.
