The Central Vermont Weston A. Price Foundation Chapter will be hosting an evening discussing the topic of preparing local foods using traditional techniques. Hosted at Silloway Maple in Randolph Center, August 31st. at 6pm. The address is 1303 Boudro Rd. Randolph Center, VT.
We'll be going over staple foods that can be found in a traditional kitchen, local to our area, and preparation techniques. Making bone broth and stock, milk kefir, vegetable ferments such as sauerkraut, vinegar, and simple ways to prepare local meats and vegetables for quick, nutritious meals. A large and broad topic! I hope you will bring local food technique ideas that you have developed to share, and any questions that you may have in the area of making traditional cooking part of your lifestyle. Whether your'e an accomplished foodie, or wanting to develop new skills, we hope you'll join us! This will be a fun evening of discussing all things traditional kitchening, and finding joy in cooking with the bounty that grows all around us, but will in no way be exhaustive!
As always, we endeavor to make traditional foods and preparation techniques accessible to all in our community, to support local farmers and our environment, and grow as friends in good health!
Please email with any questions or if you'd like to RSVP. Hope to see you there!
