Residents interested in helping with the Vermont Green Up sponsored flood litter clean up on Saturday, August 26 could obtain the special orange bags at the Johnson Municipal Building starting at 9:00 am. The purpose of this event is to clean up litter or debris left behind on public property and riverbanks after floodwaters receded. Sites suggested are: Lamoille River banks along Hogback Road, riverbank along Rt. 15 between the Municipal Building and Wescom Road, Holmes Meadow at the end of River Road West, and riverbanks along the Old Mill Park athletic fields. VT Green Up and the Town of Johnson encourage everyone to be extremely careful working along the river.
