Onion River Jazz Dance Band…7:30 PM
The Onion River Jazz Band is a 7 piece traditional Dixieland jazz band based in Burlington. For over 30 years, the Onion river Jazz Band has been presenting traditional New Orleans Dixieland Jazz which represents the roots and origin of jazz in America. The band has worked to preserve the original sound of jazz with the performance of tunes from such legends and innovators as King Oliver, Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Bix Biederbecke, Lu Watters and Clarence Williams. The band first performed in Burlington as a part of the Discover Jazz Festival and currently plays concerts, weddings, worship services, memorial services, grand openings and jazz cruises continuously throughout the New England Area. Band members include local favorite Gene Childers, Andy Miskavage, Bill Brislin, Carl Recchia, Glendon Ingalls and Nick Aloi. Come prepared to dance the night away or just sit back, relax, tap your feet and enjoy the music. There will be a "Second Line Parade" led by Emma Jean Hoops.
