Throughout the growing season the Folsom Learning Garden is an active place where students and community members come together to grow food for ourselves and our neighbors in need. The garden also acts as an outdoor classroom, learning lab, and home base of SHLT's summer camps and afterschool clubs. Students do the bulk of the planting, tending, and harvesting of produce, which then gets delivered either to the school kitchen, or the Food For Thought summer meal program, as well quite a lot of snacking in the garden!

Community volunteers are a key piece of the garden, and we can use your help! Join SHLT staff and fellow volunteers Monday the 28th at 10am for a morning work party to get the garden on track for fall.

We will be planting some late season flowers, veggie starts, and seeds, getting the garden looking great for the start of the school year.

Please bring gloves and plenty of water, and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. We will provide tools and instructions.
