Announcement from Patrick Murray, Chair, Essex Junction Democrats
Residents of Essex Junction:
On Monday, September 11, 2023 at 6:30 pm, I would like to invite anyone interested in becoming a part of the local democratic committee to join us for our biannual reorganization caucus. The only requirement to participate is to be a registered voter of Essex Junction, and to have not voted or participated in another party's primary within the last 12 months. We will meet in person at Lincoln Hall, 2 Lincoln Street at Five Corners with remote options available upon request.
In accordance with Vermont law, immediately following the caucus, we shall hold a meeting to elect a city committee Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, in addition to County officers.
I strongly encourage attendance to anyone with interest in politics, in learning how to run for office, or desiring to meet other individuals that hold to the values of the Democratic party. Vermont may be unique in the country when it comes to our politics and our small size affords the opportunity to interact and participate in the democratic process like no other place in the country. Please expect to hear and be heard by local and state elected leaders, and we always encourage you to bring any questions you may have. As the newest committee in the state we are seeking individuals that would be willing to help us grow and make an impact within the City as well. The EJ Democrats feel strongly that an engaged populace in the political process helps to keep Essex Junction an incredible place to live.
