A statewide Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. In MARSHFIELD, the polls will open at 9:00 a.m. and will close at 7:00 p.m. The polling place is located at the Old Schoolhouse Common, 122 School Street, Marshfield. In PLAINFIELD, the polls will open at 9:00 a.m. and will close at 7:00 p.m. The polling place is located at the Municipal Building, 149 Main Street, Plainfield.
CHECKLIST POSTED at Clerk’ Office By July 27, 2014. If your name is not on the checklist, then you must register to vote.

REGISTER TO VOTE no later than 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Town Clerk's Office. All Clerk’s offices will be open from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014.
PARTY CHOICE: You don’t have to tell which party you favor, but you can only vote for candidates on one party ballot in the primary election. (There is no voter registration by party in Vermont).
EARLY or ABSENTEE BALLOTS: You can request early absentee ballots at any time during the election year. The latest you can request ballots for the Primary is the close of the Town Clerk’s office on August 25, 2014.You or a family member can request early ballots in person, in writing, or by telephone. An authorized person can request ballots for you in writing.
Methods of voting early/absentee in the 45 days before the election (available July 12, 2014):
• Vote in the town clerk's office on or before August 25, 2014.
• Voter may take his or her ballots out of the clerk’s office and return in same manner as if the ballots were received by mail.
• Have ballot mailed to you, and mail or deliver it back to the clerk's office before Election Day or to the polling place before 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
• If you are sick or disabled, you may ask the town clerk on or before August 25, 2014 to have two justices of the peace bring a ballot to you at your home.
