UVM Extension is offering free lead screening of vegetable garden soil to ensure that you and your family are gardening in a safe environment. This event will take place at the Norwich Farmers Market on Saturday, September 9th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free screening is for lead levels only, but there will be some UVM soil test kits available if folks are interested in getting a full nutrient wet chemistry analysis (there is a charge for this analysis).

Individuals could volunteer to be "runners" within their communities to bring samples from friends and neighbors to the Norwich event.
