This weeks events at the Nature Center!
Just a note - next weekend will be the last weekend the Nature Center is open at Branbury! After labor day weekend, I will be leading hikes through the Moosalmoo National Recreation Area. Keep an eye out for a full calendar of dates being posted here and on the VT state parks official calendar, and feel free to email with any questions you may have.

Thursday 08/24
10:30 am – 12:30 pm: Make an Herbarium Journal
Bring your own notebook, use one provided, or make one at the nature center and get started on your very own herbarium journal! Join in on collecting and identifying plants while learning how to preserve them and keep them in your notebooks to use for identifying the plants around you.

1 – 4: Lakeside Watercolors
Sit by the lake and practice your art skills by drawing the environment around you and learning about botanical drawing

Friday 08/25
10:30 am – 12 pm: Ecosystem Building
Figure out what you'd need to add to a mason jar to create the perfect ecosystem for an animal or insect of choice. Supplies included.

1 - 4: What Floats Your Boat?
Create a boat out of natural materials found around the park and see if your boat can float the longest!

Saturday 08/26
10:30 am – 12:30 pm: Lakeside Watercolors
Sit by the lake and practice your art skills by drawing the environment around you and learning about botanical drawing

1 - 4: Lake Chemistry
Complete some water sampling of Lake Dunmore and learn about the importance of turbidity, pH levels, and temperature to having a successful lake ecosystem!

Sunday 08/27
10:30 am – 4 pm: Maple Dendrology/maple syrup tasting
Learn about how to identify maple trees and try some local syrup of different grades!
