E-Bike Lending Library Coming to Woodstock

Past event
Aug 30, 5 PM to 5 PM, Sep 2, 2023

The Upper Valley E-Bike Lending Library is returning for a third season, offering residents the chance to try out one of our nation's fastest-growing forms of transportation!

Where: The Norman Williams Public Library, 10 the Green Woodstock, VT
When: August 30th-September 2nd
For the full schedule, go to: https://vitalcommunities.org/upper-valley-e-bike-lending-library/

E-bikes (electric-assist bicycles) make biking possible for more people and more situations—especially in places with the hilly terrain and long distances of the Upper Valley – by providing supplemental battery power to the rider. This means individuals save money and improve their health, and our communities reduce greenhouse gas emissions and traffic and parking congestion.

The Upper Valley E-Bike Lending Library is a selection of four e-bikes of assorted styles and retail costs, from "cargo e-bikes" that can haul groceries or kids to lighter-weight "commuter e-bikes." People can borrow and try these e-bikes for free to discover what e-bikes are really like and consider whether one could become part of their everyday lives.

Woodstock will host two overnight 24-hour e-bike loans so participants can take the bike home and test out commuting to work, the grocery store, etc. We will also host a drop-in demo day from 9:30-5 on Saturday September 2nd for anyone to come by and give a bike a test ride.
