Marianne Williamson, candidate for the Democratic nomination for President, will be visiting Barre, Johnson and Burlington on Wednesday August 23.
She will be in Barre from 8:30-10:00 at Espresso Bueno, 248 N. Main Street. (she will be here for no more than one hour between those times and we will post the exact time when known)
Marianne also will be touring flood damaged areas and engaging with the community, especially in Johnson.
After her visit here, she will be at Jenna's Pomise in Johnson and then Burlington Yoga.
Marianne Williamson is a best selling author, political activist, and spiritual thought leader.
For over three decades, she has been a leader in spiritual and religiously progressive circles. She is the
author of 15 books, four of which have been #1 New York Times bestsellers.
Williamson founded Project Angel Food, a non-profit organization that has delivered more than 16 million meals to ill and dying home bound patients since 1989. The group was created to help people suffering from the ravages of HIV/AIDS.
She has also worked throughout her career on poverty, anti-hunger and racial reconciliation issues. In 2004, she co-founded The Peace Alliance and supports the creation of a U.S. Department of Peace. Williamson also ran for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020.
Obviously her chances of securing the nomination are slim. But she is running with the hope that some of her progressive and compassionate ideas will find their way into the Democratic platform. Come meet her and hear her share her thoughts (and when was the last time you sat down with a bona fide candidate for President :)
We hope to see you Wednesday, August 23 at Espresso Bueno, 248 N. Main St. between 8;30 and 10:00.
