Second Annual Deerfield Valley Pilgrimage--September 16-17
Appeal for walkers and volunteers
Pilgrimage is a time-honored tradition of intentionally stepping out of our ordinary routines and into a new relationship—of openness and receptivity—to wider realms of life, however you may conceive of that. A pilgrimage can be used to strengthen any intention you have.
Usually, you have to go to Europe or Asia to find an established pilgrimage route—but not any more! The Deerfield Valley will be hosting its second annual two-day pilgrimage walk from Wilmington to the beautiful Ephesus House in Jamaica (VT), September 16-17 (with a welcome dinner Friday night, 9/15).
The pilgrimage will include a mix of wooded trails and dirt roads, most of which are easy walking, but there are a few somewhat more challenging sections along the way. Vehicles will be available to assist. Rest stops and meal stops are included. There are also multiple options for doing shorter sections of the route.
If you would like to participate but do not want to walk, there are volunteer positions available as well—setting up rest stops and meals, preparing the trails, and offering transportation.
