"You ought to have seen how it looked in the rain,
The fruit mixed with water in layers of leaves,
Like two kinds of jewels, a vision for thieves."
- from 'Blueberries,' by Robert Frost
Summer is high, and the sounds of berries plinking into buckets is around us. With so much fruit in season to gorge upon in such a short time, one couldn't possibly eat their fill for the whole year! If you are already worrying for your slowed fruit consumption in the coming months, ShareMRV's got the perfect way to help you put away some of the harvest— hitting the kitchen and making some jams and syrups! Together we'll make elderberry syrup, a healthful and delicious tonic, as well as foraged chokecherry jam….perhaps even featuring some berry treats along the way! Gather with us for sweetness as we boil fruit down and discuss our favorite ways to preserve the juiciest bounties of summer.
This workshop is FREE and all are welcome!! Email sharemrv@gmail.com or call 802.505.9249 with questions. Hope to see you!!
