As the devastating flood of 2023 slowly starts to shrink in the rearview, the Montpelier community is due for a good, healing, Vermont-style summer benefit concert in the heart of our Capital City. The MontP ❤️ Fest will do just that on Saturday, August 26, noon-8pm.
EVENT DETAILS: Saturday, August 26, noon-8 pm. Hubbard Park Old Shelter, Montpelier. Bands will include: Green Mountain Swing Band, D Davis & the Bent Nails House Band, Mal Maíz, Mikahely, Sara Grace, and Ras Moshe. Family tent: Musical Munchkins, Drag Queen Story Hour, music for littles, KHL librarians, face painting, crafts, and more. Food from local restaurants.
With many of the musicians from Montpelier's canceled Parkapalooza and Brown Bag lunch series, the day promises to be the summer event the Old Shelter & Tuning Fork Stage in Hubbard Park were made for. Think bare feet, funky grooves, tasty food, downtown vendors, kids' fun, and neighbors and friends supporting their city's recovery. What more can we ask for to close out a strange and not-soon-forgotten Montpelier summer?
This day of fun is being coordinated by the Montpelier Rotary Club and Monteverdi Music School, with staff from the City of Montpelier, Parks Department, and Montpelier Alive, and all proceeds support the Montpelier Strong Fun, created by Montpelier Alive and the Montpelier Foundation to support businesses impacted by the flood. The fund seeks to reach its $2 million goal before the next round of business grants.
**Note, the event is weather permitting; check for updates on Montpelier Alive's Facebook event (https://www.facebook.com/events/829646742041295) and on the weekly Montpelier Alive newsletter.**
