On August 22nd, please join us at the Northfield Farmers' Market for "22-a-Day," a special event to raise awareness of veteran suicide
Every day in this country, 22 U.S. military veterans commit suicide. To raise awareness of this fact, and to help prevent such tragedies from occurring, The Veterans' Place is partnering with the Northfield Farmers' Market for a special event. Please come by our booth on the Common on Tuesday, August 22, from 3-6pm, where we will be giving away free gunlocks, dispensing information on Extreme Risk Protection Orders, and offering daffodil bulbs for sale. The bright yellow bulbs represent suicide awareness and prevention. If planted in the fall, they will bloom in May, which is mental health awareness month. Any proceeds from the sale of the bulbs will directly benefit our residents. It's one small thing you can do to help make a difference, and possibly even save a life. Hope to see you there! Thank you! --Diana Weggler, president of the board, The Veterans' Place, Inc.
