The Ethan Allen Homestead Museum's Monthly Lecture Series presents: "Writing Historic Fiction" by author Angela Moody.

Have you ever thought about quitting your job to become a writer? Are you inspired by every historic site you visit to learn more about the stories that took place there and to share them with others? Have you every wondered how authors get published, make a living, or even get started? Do you love reading historic fiction novels? Or maybe you have always wondered how much historical research goes goes into creating a story in an historic setting, or how much of what you're reading truly happened versus fiction. Now is your opportunity to learn from a home-grown Vermonter how she gets inspired, balances a writing schedule, and conducts in-depth historical research -- and then decides how much of that research has to be taken out for the sake of the storytelling. Come with your questions because she is ready to tell all!

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Angela Moody is a native Vermonter. She grew up in Essex Junction where she still lives. She is married and has two wonderful grown children: Stephen and Alison; and their spouses, Amanda and Scott. She also has a kitty child named Billy, who is her writing companion.

Angela has been writing fiction since her early days in school, always scratching out ideas for stories rather than doing her homework (especially math homework). Her first completed novel, No Safe Haven was published in 2016 and her second, The Belle Of Oyster Bay was published in 2022.

Right now she is hard at work on a contemporary series but she is also working on an idea for a historical fiction novel that will reflect today's political atmosphere. Visit https://www.angelaimoody.com/ to stay up to date on her work.
