Yankee Wine & Spirits, like many Montpelier businesses, was devasted by the flood. We plan to re-open, but it will take a month or two and a boatload of money.
We were able to save our best wines - the ones on the "top shelf". We are storing them at a climate controlled storage facility in Shelburne, which also costs money. We want to convert our wine inventory to dollars we can use restoring our store.
We had our first "Pop-Up" wine sale today, raising about $1,300. We'd like to do even better tomorrow, Much of the wine was already on sale at the time of the flood, but we're discounting the price even more with an additional $1 off the marked price of any bottle less than $20 and $2 off any bottle costing $20 or more.
Please stop by Yankee Wine & Spirits, 126 Main St. in Montpeler this Sunday, 8/13, between the hours of 11 am and 3 pm. Our credit cards aren't back up and running yet so its a "Cash Only" sale (unless we know ya, in which case we'll take a check). All proceeds go to restoring the store to its former glory!
