For their 31st season, the Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival musicians return with traditional and unusual music for various combinations of strings. This summer's program is dedicated to cartoonist Ed Koren, who during his lifetime was rumored to bring his fuzzy-faced creatures to every CVCMF event.
Saturday evening the group will perform less-well-known string trios by Russian Sergei Taneiev and Argentinian Pedro Saenz, as well as Johannes Brahms' first string sextet Opus 18. The musicians will be violinists Arturo Delmoni and Michael Roth, violists Leah Ferguson and Erica Gailing, and cellists Peter Sanders and Robert Burkhart.
As usual, the concert will be followed by a complimentary reception featuring Janet Watton's homemade treats.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.chandler-arts.org or (802)728-9878, or at the door. Youth are welcome, free of charge.
