It's so hard to see the tragic devastation to farms, community and school gardens caused by the flooding last month. If you are one of the lucky ones whose garden was unimpacted, do you have some extra produce to share?
We gather weekly (except 3rd Sat. of each month - Woodbury/Calais Foodshelf) on the porch of the General Store on Rt. 14.
Our mission is to share extra veggies, herbs and flowers from our gardens with those who may need a little help with their food budget and/or who may not have a garden. We also share growing tips, successes and failures. Some gardeners who donate may pick up something that is missing or has not grown well in their gardens. All are welcome!
Here are the details: Bring your washed and trimmed garden produce on Saturday between 9 – 11 (the earlier the better). We'll have a couple coolers but if you can put it in cardboard boxes or plastic bags, that'd be fine. The goal is to have all donations given away by 11 so that nothing ends up going in the compost pile.
If you are unable to bring your extra produce but want to contribute, please ask a neighbor or friend to deliver it.
Feel free to email me with questions or suggestions. We look forward to seeing you!
