Cost: $35 per set (1 set = 3 different style mooncakes). Pre-order take-out mooncakes are $15 per set.
Mooncakes 月饼 are traditionally eaten during Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Moon Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. Mooncakes are usually eaten in small wedges accompanied by tea. There are sweet and savory mooncakes depending on the region of origin.
Vermont Chinese School will provide dough, lotus seed paste and red bean paste fillings. Please feel free to bring your own fillings. We'll be making one of each of the following mooncakes: traditional mooncake, Shanghai mooncake and snow skin mooncake.
