The Cambridge Historical Society will present their August Program at the Museum at 12 Broad St., Cambridge, NY. on Wednesday, August 16th. Robert Wright will be the presenter. The program starts at 7:00 p.m. but there will be free tours of the museum starting at 6:00 p.m. The museum is handicap accessible. There is no charge, but donations are always welcome. Light refrehments will be served.
The British Are Coming!...or is it the Hessians? No, it's Dragoons from Lower Saxony with some Canadians and a few Native Americans under the command of Col. Fredrich Baum. It is Aug. 1777 and these troops are on their way from Ft. Miller to Bennington. Cambridge is directly in its path.
Listen to a recorded point-by- point account of the trip. A slide show will highlight points of interest mentioned in the narrative. Maybe they marched by your house.
The Museum is open on Fridays & Saturdays from 1:00-4:00 p.m. or by appointment.
