Science Of StretchingTM is a targeted mobility training method that helps greatly with stiff backs, locked-up hips, tight shoulders, and tight hamstrings. This work typically begins to deliver results in flexibility fairly quickly. It is based on learning to relax through a special breathing technique that relaxes our nervous systems and through holding the stretches for extended periods, known as "time under passive tension." People of all levels of fitness and abilities, ages 14 to 84, will find benefit. This five-week series will focus on shoulder opening.
Most student will begin to notice some improvement after only a few of weeks, but not so much after just the first week. Therefore, the Science of Stretching Curriculum encourages student participation for the whole five-week course. Taught by Rob Lamprey, Certified Stretch Coach, RYT 500 Yoga Instructor, Certified Breath Coach, and Approved Meditation Instructor.
Thursdays, Starting Aug. 10, 5:30 to 6:30, Wells River Wellness Hall (behind the Bank). $15 per class; $60 for all five classes.
