Hello, all:
The VT Agency of Human Services and the Middlesex Select Board encourage anyone interested in the short-term plans for the Middlesex Therapeutic Community Residence - the marshmallow-like temporary building near the VT State Archives and old police barracks on US Route 2 - to attend the next Select Board meeting either in person or via Zoom at 5 PM Tuesday, August 15th.
The VT Agency of Human Services would like to use the building, currently unoccupied, as a temporary facility to house four juveniles who need therapeutic care in a stabilized setting. While the State doesn't need the Town's permission to do this, officials there are reaching out to Middlesex neighbors and anyone concerned about this proposed use, encouraging them to tune in or attend the above meeting.
An agenda with specific times will be posted later this week. Meanwhile, you can read some background on the the issue by going to the minutes of the Board's July 18th meeting here: http://middlesexvermont.org/wp-content/uploads/minutes-agendas-newsletters/sbminute_2023-07-18.pdf
