Wildlife Walk at the Catamount Community Forest w/ Vermont Dept. of Fish and Wildlife
Saturday, August 12, 1:00-3:00 PM
Join Ethan Tapper, the Chittenden County Forester, and Andrea Shortsleeve of the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife for a wildlife walk of the Catamount Community Forest in Williston. We will walk through the Community Forest and talk about what wildlife are using it, and how it might be managed to provide habitat for a greater diversity of critters. We will also visit the area of Catamount that will be managed this September and discuss how this management will benefit Vermont's native fauna. To attend, just show up! Meet at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 12 at the Catamount Community Forest's parking lot at 553 Governor Chittenden Road, Williston, VT, ready to spend two hours out in the elements. This event will happen rain or shine!

Check out my takeover of the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation's Instagram account at https://www.instagram.com/vtforestsparksrecreation/ Between July 24-30, each day I posted a collaborative post with one of the partners that we've been working with to develop and celebrate the project at the Catamount Community Forest: the Vermont Land Trust, the University of Vermont's Rubenstein School for the Environment and Natural Resources, Audubon Vermont, Vermont Coverts, Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department and City Market Coop. I'm excited to highlight the coalition of partners that are involved in this project, and to show how excited about it we all are!
