What do you see when you face the river? Vermont River Conservancy invites you to help shape river access, conservation, flood resilience, and more in a weeklong community workshop this fall.
Rivers cover a lot of ground – and in this multigenerational workshop, so will we. We'll share and compare our personal experiences of rivers and floods. We'll take a field trip to a nearby brook and learn the fundamentals of river science. Putting it all together, we'll propose river access and conservation strategies that build on the strengths, and meet the needs, of southern Vermonters of all ages.
Your workshop host will be VRC's Southern Vermont Conservation Manager, Hayley Kolding, an ecologist, poet, and former high school teacher.
Dates: Monday, 9/11 - Friday, 9/15, 4-5:45 p.m.
Location: Brooks Memorial Library (plus one field trip on Tuesday - further details provided upon registration)
The workshop is free and open to the public. All materials will be provided. Please register in advance if you would like to take part: https://vermontriverconservancy.org/our-work/engage-communities/south
This all-ages event is supported by AARP Vermont.
