Celebrate Open Farm Week with a Burger Night & Community Celebration at the White River Land Collaborative! Due to forecasts of rain and thunderstorms, we're moving this event from Tuesday, August 8th to Wednesday, August 9th from 5 - 8 PM.
Chef Hugo Yanez and Shona Sanford-Long of Flying Dog Farm will be cooking up:
- Burgers featuring their certified organic grass-fed beef
- Pulled Pork Sandwiches featuring their certified organic pastured pork
- Housemade Sweet Potato Veggie Burgers with certified organic VT sweet potatoes
Aguas frescas and sides of french fries and salad will also be available for purchase. And don't forget dessert! Kiss the Cow will be selling their super-premium ice cream made on the farm in small batches using their own grass-grown organic cream and milk and eggs from their hens.
We'll have fun activities for folks of all ages! Todd from Royalton Community Radio will be spinning some tunes. Learn about Abenaki basket weaving. Connect with your favorite local organizations and businesses, including Green Blossom Painting, Vermont Healthy Soils Coalition, and an e-bike demonstration from Vital Communities.
The White River Land Collaborative will also be screening "A Seed to the Future", a short documentary about WRLC created by friends and neighbors, Lisa Zimble and Evan Dunsky.
Please bring a blanket or chair to sit and remember to leave your pets at home. Parking is limited, so please carpool!
