Take a Seat in the Islands, the community art project with artist-painted benches, is holding a live auction on Friday, August 15, at the North Hero Community Hall. Doors open at 6:30 for the cash bar, and hors d'oeuvres by Tasty Persuasions. At 7 p.m. the festivities being with auctioneer Jamie Polli if gameshowsvt.com. By the end of the evening all the benches will go to good homes!
Presented by the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by KOOL 105, Take a Seat in the Islands showcases the work of 19 local artists on benches from Sam's Wood Furniture. Each bench also has a business sponsor. The themes are the lake, flora, fauna, butterflies, and even the drawbridge! The auction is free, but to bid you must register to receive a paddle.
