Author/Illustrator Event and Free Books

Past event
Aug 4, 2023, 5 to 6 PM

This Friday, 8/4, join us at the Town Hall at 5:00 to meet author/illustrator John Steven Gurney. After we listen to stories, every child can take home 2 free books of their choosing! There are some high quality books, ranging from board books all the way through teen fiction. This program is for youth of all ages.

The event is made possible thanks to the hard work of Amanda Yates and a grant from CLiF.

About the author: John Steven Gurney is the illustrator of more than 140 books for children, including these popular chapter book series: The A to Z Mysteries, The Calendar Mysteries, Palace Puppies, The Bailey School Kids, and Big Apple Barn. He is the author and illustrator of the picture book Dinosaur Train and the graphic novel, Fuzzy Baseball and its sequel Ninja Baseball Blast. John also works as a caricature artist and does illustrations for games and puzzles.

Any questions about the event can be directed to Liz at marybloodlibrary@gmail.com or by calling the library at 484-7205.

Also upcoming for kids - we have four more Summer Story Time and Craft days at the library, Saturdays at 10:00 am:

8/6: Backyard Fort Building
8/12: Community Art
8/19: Engineering
8/26: Summer Reading Celebration - BYO container for a bubble party and something to tie-dye (weather permitting). Pick up your Summer Reading prizes!

If you'd like to join the Summer Reading challenge, there's still plenty of time. We have challenge sheets at the library.
