Where: 182 Hayes Road, West Guilford
Guilford Cares and Guilford Conservation Commission guides Karen Murphy and Linda Lembke will take us to the vintage home of Joy Hayes, in West Guilford.
We will gather outside this house where Joy grew up to hear her recount stories and memories as only a Vermont native can. Then we will take an easy walk on level mowed paths around a sunny field of wild flowers. We recommend bug repellent and a hat for sun protection.
For those who are up to it, we will trek into the woods in search of the grave marker of a murder victim!
To carpool, meet at The Broad Brook Community Center, 3940 Guilford Center Road by 10:15.
Driving directions to Joy Hayes' house, 182 Hayes Road from Hinesburg Road:
From West Brattleboro direction (Ames Hill, Akley Rd.) take Hinesburg Road south, pass Sunrise Farm, Deer Ridge Farm and Meeting House Hill Rd, turn sharp right onto Hale Road, go 1 mile and turn left onto Hayes Road.
