A brand new choir comprised of members of four Montpelier church choirs as well as singers in the Montpelier Gospel Choir, the Onion River Chorus and other groups will be offering three healing and hopeful songs at the Montpelier Farmer's Market on Saturday, August 5th at 9:30 AM.
Inspired by the song "Requiem" by Eliza Gilkyson, the choir was convened by Unitarian Church of Montpelier Music Director Donia Prince. Gilkyson wrote the song in response to the Asian tsunami in December 2004, and it has since been sung in the wake of other water related disasters. It is a very powerful and moving piece of music.
