As you may know, Keilani has suffered extraordinary medical trauma in recent years. You can read her full story on the ticketing website, but in short, she has been through a lot. Through it all, Keilani has maintained her ineffable spirit and effervescent charm. She's bravely continued her work as an artist and as an advocate for disability rights. But even heroes sometimes need help. So we're throwing her benefit party that's reflective of her passions as an artist, activist and devoted friend, called Limelight.

Organized by winemaker Rhiannon Johnson and artist Ashley Campbell, this private, ticketed event will be held on Thursday, August 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Queen City Brewery event space in Burlington, VT. The evening will feature art, live music by local rock band Swale, food from local vendors, QCB beer on draught and wine from Johnson's private stock. The centerpiece of the event is a silent auction of art by Keilani and other locals along with unique items exclusive to the night.* A ticket includes a complimentary bottle of "The Quiet One," a limited-edition wine made by Johnson, while supplies last. "The Quiet One" is a 100% Vermont LaCrescent with a bouquet of orange blossom, citrus pith, and marmalade. For those who do not imbibe, Venetian Ginger Ale is generously donating a 4-pack for every ticket sold as well.

*In addition to the event and for those who can't attend, a separate online auction of items donated from local artists and businesses will happen in November. More information and a link to the online auction will be provided on Instagram for the event, @limelightfundraiser, so be sure to follow and stay tuned!
