The Vermont Philharmonic will play its annual outdoor Summer Pops Concerts on the scenic grounds of the Shore Acres Inn in North Hero overlooking Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 4:00 PM. Led by music director Lou Kosma, the orchestra will entertain the audience with selections from musicals (The King and I and Rocky Broadway), films (The Lord of the Rings), and orchestral classics ("Hungarian March" from Hector Berlioz's The Damnation of Faust) The program will also feature two works by young Vermont composers, Chase Ehrlich's "Spirit of the Sky" and Callum Robechek's "And in a Moment", along with audience favorites "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Take Me Out to the Ballgame". The program concludes, of course, with "The Stars and Stripes Forever". Shore Acres Inn is at 237 Shore Acres Drive in North Hero. Alcoholic beverages will be available for sale by Shore Acres Inn. Bringing your own alcohol is prohibited. Parking is limited. Carpooling is highly recommended.

Currently celebrating its 64th Season, the Vermont Philharmonic is composed of professional and talented amateur musicians from throughout Vermont. It is Vermont's oldest community orchestra, founded in 1959 by Jon Borowicz, emeritus professor of music at Norwich University. Since 1993, the Philharmonic's home base has been the Barre Opera House. Lou Kosma has been the Music Director of the Philharmonic since 1999.
