Try Out A Boat
We invite you to join us on August 4th to "Try Out A Boat". This is a water sport, dress to get wet.
If you're new to paddling and want to learn about the different types of kayaks and canoes, this is the perfect opportunity for that. If you're an experienced paddler and want to chat with other paddlers and try out some other types of boats, we've got you covered.
Would you like to paddle a solo or tandem whitewater canoe? We'll have four. A canoe that's rated for over 1,000 lb. load, yes, there will be one. Narrow canoes, sure. Wide canoes, we got them. Recreational kayaks, crossover kayaks, sea kayaks and more.
The Charlotte Senior Center is sponsoring a "Try Out a Boat" event at the Ferrisburgh Town Beach on August 4th from noon to 2pm. We'll have a variety of boats to try, both kayaks and canoes. We'll have paddles and PFDs (life jackets) but please bring your own if you have them. You can even bring your own canoe or kayak and let other people try it.
Cost: Free. Registration is required.
