Volunteer Flood Recovery Day
Aldrich Public Library front lawn
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
If you'd like to volunteer to help with flood recovery, please join us on the front lawn of the Aldrich Public Library from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. We will be in particular need of volunteers who know the city well in order to canvas neighborhoods and share information about logging flood damage on 211 and registering for FEMA.
From 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, Black Lotus Kitchen's food truck, offering tacos, burritos, and rice bowls, will be parked and serving food. Anyone who volunteers will get a free meal ticket. Everyone else is encouraged to come buy a delicious lunch from a business that is helping support our volunteer work.
At 1:00 pm, Barre City staff will be on hand to train folks on using a mold remediation solution that will also be provided for free to anyone who attends. Keep an eye out - there will be other opportunities to pick this up in the future if you're not available on Saturday.
Last but most definitely not least: this weekend is the Friends of the Aldrich Public Library's annual book sale. Please come down and plan to shop for some new books to support the library, who have been such incredible community partners in helping make these volunteer days possible.
As always, check out barrecity.org/flood for the most up to date flood recovery information, and email volunteer@barrecity.org directly with any volunteering questions.
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far, in whatever capacity you've been able to contribute to help our amazing city recover. It's been a really difficult few weeks but we have an incredible community here.
