The Vergennes City Council will hold a public informational meeting Monday, August 25, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the Vergennes Fire Station to hear from all parties with thoughts and/or opinions pertaining to the proposed toddler park playground on East Street.

The Vergennes Recreation Committee has a proposed plan and cost estimate that can be viewed on the city website. The City Council welcomes civil discussion of the current plan or revisions to determine what appropriate steps should be taken next.

The hearing will include a brief history of the project and the reasoning behind the committee's proposal. A moderated discussion will follow allowing citizens to speak to the proposes project and/or make recommendations for change.

The City Council will take into consideration the information presented at the meeting and the estimates of the proposed costs of the toddler park project to determine if the City Council should approve funds for the construction of the project.
