This show tells a story of the artist's evolution from classical training to their emergence on the contemporary art scene. After spending years mastering long-established techniques in various media — painting, drawing, and sculpture — these artists bring contemporary visions into focus.

Grand Central Atelier is at the forefront of this young artists' movement. Similar approaches are taught at Academies of Realist Art emerging over the past decade in major European, US, and Canadian cities. The movement pushes boundaries by focusing on works that are both technically impressive and emotionally resonant for a contemporary audience.

Following the show, the artists will stay at Willow over several days and fan across southern Vermont to paint plein air landscapes. We invite area residents to offer their properties as subjects for these landscape paintings. We seek properties with grand or intimate views, historic buildings, landscaped gardens, or breathtaking natural streams and rivers.
