This Monday (7/31) I'll be co-leading a free, public tree identification walk at the Catamount Community Forest, with Vermont Woodlands Association (see details, below). Besides learning to identify some of Vermont's tree species, this will be another opportunity to visit the upcoming forest management project. I hope to see you there!

Tree Identification at the Catamount Community Forest
w/ Vermont Woodlands Association and the Dorothy Alling Memorial Library
Monday, July 31, 5:00-7:00 PM

Join Ethan Tapper, the Chittenden County Forester, and Kate Forrer, the Director of Vermont Woodlands Association, for a free tree identification walk organized by the Dorothy Alling Memorial Library. Ethan and Kate will discuss how to identify some of Vermont's common trees and shrubs and discuss the natural history of each. Time permitting, we will also visit the upcoming forest management at the Catamount Community Forest.

To attend, meet at 5:00 PM on Monday 7/31 at the Catamount Community Forest's parking lot at 553 Governor Chittenden Road, Williston, VT, ready to spend two hours out in the elements.
