What's not to love about St. Johnsbury's Final Fridays. Come on out for free music, art, and community. This week, Art & Joy will host an art party outside on the street.
We are hosting a really really fun "TASK PARTY." We will have a couple of tables full of art supplies and recyclables for you to dive into. The rules are simple: take a task from the task box, interpret the task, do the task, and then write a new task to add to the task box. There is no wrong way to complete the task. The concept of the task party was started by the contemporary artist, Oliver Herring. We are also seeking donated arty supplies. Yes--you read that correctly. Do you have something that you think is just too good to throw away and could have a new life if someone came along and incorporated it into an art project? Here are a few things that we'd love to collect before Friday evening: Cereal boxes, egg cartons, string or cord, odds and ends of art supplies that you no longer use (old crayons, pencils, markers), paper, fabric, buttons...
We will start setting up our booth on Friday afternoon around 4pm and will gladly take donations anytime this week at Art & Joy @ 375 Railroad Street in St. J. Hours: 10am-5pm Tuesday & Thursday. We are closed on Wednesday.
