Raptors: Inspiring Conservation with VINS

Past event
Aug 16, 2023, 11:15 to 11:45 AM

Join us for one (or both) special summer programs at New Haven Community Library. This program is made possible in part thought the Summer Reading Grant through the Vermont Department of Libraries.

For hundreds of years, humans didn't understand the vital role that raptors play in our ecosystem. Some of our most charismatic birds, including the Bald Eagle and Peregrine Falcon, wound up on the Endangered Species List, and today we know that a majority of bird species are in decline. Join us in learning how people banded together to save these magnificent animals, and meet some live birds who will help us tell these inspiring conservation stories. Best of all, learn what you can still do to help them thrive in the wild.

Prior our Raptors program, we'll have a live animal presentation and learn more about turtles with one of the knowledgeable VINS educators beginning at 10:30 am. Both programs will be hosted on the library patio with our indoor space as an alternate location. Come rain or shine!
