A free community event for support & processing with dinner provided. Please join us in tending to our mental health and address the moral injury that has been caused by the floods. Natural disasters affect everyone, both helpers and those more directly impacted. This group is an opportunity for nervous system reset, stress relief, and recognition of resilience. How have recent events affected your thoughts, physiology, connections and sense of wellbeing?
In this experiential group, you can expect conversations, self reflection, connection, simple movement exercises, and maybe even some laughter.
The on the ground response of volunteers and outpouring of generosity has been strong and strengthening. It is also essential to take time together to move through the grief, emotional fatigue and burnout of witnesses, victims and responders. This increases our resilience locally and globally. Recognizing trauma dynamics and coping with them is important for preventing collective fear and panic. We intend to use this time as an opportunity to create new possibilities for future response and community resiliency.
Facilitated by Jean Marie Pearce, a local therapist, and Tina Ghantous, local therapist and yoga teacher.
