Ethan Allen Day in Castleton, VT
The Castleton Historical Society presents historian Tom Hughes who will discuss how Castleton, VT, has celebrated Ethan Allen Day from 1925 to 1975, then he will look forward to May 8 - 9, 2025, the 250th Anniversary of Ethan Allen's planning of his historic attack on Ft. Ticonderoga which began in Castleton.
On Sunday, August 13, the program begins with the Historical Society's annual picnic which will be held on the lawn of the Castleton Free Library (638 Main Street) at 1:00 pm. This is a potluck picnic for members and visitors. Everyone brings a dish to share and a personal place setting. In honor of the 75th Anniversary of the Castleton Historical Society, a special celebratory cake will top-off the picnic.
Immediately following the picnic at approximately 2:00 pm, Tom Hughes will give his special presentation at the Buel Block (556 Main Street). All are welcome to this free event.
Buel Block is handicapped accessible and will serve as the rain location for the picnic and presentation.
