Plainfield residents - please meet FEMA's teams at Twinfield to get started on your flood relief. And then on Monday evening, get together your neighbors and community helpers, who will be there along with (separate room) a disaster response team for counseling and support.
Plainfield townspeople took a big hit by the flooding and rain on July 11th and 12th. Many of us are still recovering and cleaning up. It's been hard. And frankly, we still don't know everyone who was affected. (Sign in with vermont211.org - so more of us will know your situation.)
Please join us for a talk together along with Plainfield Select Board Chair Riley Carlson, Vermont representative Marc Mihaly, Regional Planning rep Keith Cubbon, myself (Plainfield Emergency Management) and Karen Kurrle - Intensive Care Director for Washington County Mental Health - at Plainfield Town Hall at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 24th. We will also be joined by a rep from the Southern Baptist Disaster Team, who may be able to assist households with remaining clean up.
Bring your questions and experiences to this forum. We hope to learn more details from all of you.
And if you, your child or a household member became overloaded or upset by this flood event, they can talk there (separately) with staffers from Washington County M.H. - who will be there to hear what happened, and to direct those in need to resources for help.
