Sheldon Museum Talk: “Forecasts for a Post-Roe America"

Caitlin Knowles Myers, Professor of Economics at Middlebury College and co-director of the Middlebury Initiative for Data and Digital Methods will discuss a forecast for a post-Roe America covering changes in abortions and births and downstream effects on the economic lives of women and their families. Besides scholarly publications, her work has also been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, NPR, The Atlantic, and The New Yorker. She led an amicus brief sent to the Supreme Court in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case that was signed by more than 150 economists. Her presentation is the fourth in a series of lunchtime talks, held every other Wednesday, between June 14 and August 23, 2023, that draw on the current exhibition, Artists in the Archives: Unseen Neighbors.
