Do you own lakefront property? Are you concerned about water quality in our lakes? How much do you know about your septic system?
Join your neighbors for a Septic Smart Wastewater Workshop on Saturday, July 29, 10am - 12:30pm at the West Glover Congregational Church (2516 Bean Hill Rd, West Glover). Led by Cristin Ashmankas, Environmental Analyst with the State of Vermont's Department of Environmental Conservation, Drinking Water & Groundwater Protection Division. Cristin will share information on the options for well-functioning, onsite wastewater systems and good maintenance practices for wastewater systems on lakeshores. You will learn how you can save money and avoid costly emergency repairs while protecting our lakes and water quality with a properly managed system. Cristin will also outline how septic's are designed, and the many different types of systems that are available - including innovative and alternative systems that can be used in unique situations. She will also discuss the rules, where to get help, and why it is so important that systems be fully working around the lake.
Attendees will be provided with brochures and other resource materials to take home.
Join us! The event is sponsored by the Orleans County Natural Resources Conservation District, the Town of Glover, Lake Parker Association and the Shadow Lake Association. Be Septic Smart!
