The Morristown Centennial Library's "Good Citizen Challenge Club" kids will be hosting a bake sale and lemonade stand on the library's front lawn this Friday afternoon from 4:00-5:00 to benefit the Johnson Public Library. Like most of downtown Johnson, the library experienced extensive flooding, forcing staff and volunteers to empty the building of its entire collection. The library is currently closed, and holding whatever programming it can at Legion Field. General flood clean up around the county feels like such a massive project, and most of it is not something kids can safely engage with, but rallying to show support for our neighboring library is something we can do.
If you are a kid and you want to participate, meet at the library at 3:00 to make signs and mix lemonade. Bake something and bring it if you can!
If you are an adult, you are very welcome to bake something and drop it off at the library anytime before 3:30ish. And please do stop by on Friday afternoon, make a donation for a treat or a cup of lemonade, and support our friends in Johnson as they work to get their library back together, and our local kids as they work to become good citizens.
If you are a patron of the Johnson library, you are always welcome at Morristown Centennial. Library cards are free, as always. We are happy to be your home away from home while you rebuild <3
