Please join the Historical Society in celebrating this year's fair theme "Supporting Danville's History" by welcoming the Vermont Civil War Hemlocks, 3rd Vermont Regiment Soldiers in uniform will be marching in the Grand Street Parade with their authentic Civil War cannon and other artillery beginning at 10:30am.
Following the parade, the Hemlocks encampment will be set up on the grounds of the Danville Historical Society Choate Sias House at 121 Hill Street in Danville, VT. Exhibits will include Civil War Artillery, working travelling blacksmith forge, constructed by Hemlock member and local Danville resident, Steve Wakefield.
Col. Addison W. Preston Civil War Dress Uniform Dedication ceremony will be at the Choate Sias House at 2pm. Gun salute, guests speakers and tribute to Col. Preston.
Tours to view the newly acquired Preston uniform collection and related artifacts will be available throughout the day between 11:30am-4pm, with a pause for the Dedication ceremony at 2pm.
NOTICE: Danville Residents, fairgoers, and especially those living in the immediate area of the Danville Historical Society Choate-Sias House there will be cannon and musket fire between 2:45pm to 3pm.
