Currently the Planning Commission is updating the Town Zoning Bylaws. The Bylaws are updated each time a new Town Plan is adopted so that our bylaws reflect the vision put forth in the plan.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 6PM in Town Hall we will have a public forum to discuss the area by St. Albans Bay.The Town Plan adopted by the Selectboard in 2012 recommended exploring the creation of a new zoning district called the St. Albans Bay Village Center. This district would allow the Town to develop unique regulations to support the role of St. Albans Bay as a location for residential, social and economic activities; fostering growth while protecting residents, business owners and our natural resources.

Additionally, the Plan suggests the Town consider applying for a Village Center Designation from the State of Vermont so that additional resources would be available to property owners in the district.

Please join the conversation. The meeting will consist of a brief overview of the Zoning Bylaws rewrite process and the proposed Bay District as well as the Village Center Designation criteria and benefits. There will be time for discussion and questions.
