The Vermont Fiddle Orchestra is a community orchestra open to all levels and ages of players. The orchestra performances span several generations, from beginning level players to professional soloists playing simultaneously while providing entertainment, education, and preserving the traditional fiddling of Vermont and beyond. The orchestra was founded in 2003 by Sarah Hotchkiss and plays traditional tunes from various styles including Celtic, French Canadian, Southern U. S., and New England, with a special selection of tunes written by Vermont fiddlers.
Fly by Nights’ David Kaynor is a master of harmony, and has played for dancers throughout the US for decades. David has been to Sweden several times and has played with many Swedish Fiddlers and folk musicians in Sweden and in the United States over the years. He knows countless numbers of tunes and thankfully shares his knowledge with others through workshops and jam sessions and performances. Pam Bockes plays exquisite guitar, selecting just the right chords, and tastefully accompanying tunes, as well as playing lovely melody guitar. Susan Reid has been playing sweet, lively fiddle for dances, parties, weddings and . . well more parties, for decades as well. As a trio, they have found their musical heaven.
