It's 9 O'Clock, do you know where your dinners are?

Have you ever suffered incredibly bad service at a restaurant? Have you ever had minutes tick by while wondering where on earth your waiter could be hiding? Playwright Wendy MacLeod had that experience a few years ago in a California restaurant, and turned her hunger and frustration into a comedic gem. In Slow Food, Peter and Irene butt heads with their neurotic, needy and narcissistic waiter, Stephen – with a "p-h," please – in a 75-minute quest for something, anything to eat or drink.

Between bouts with Stephen, their enforced time together forces them to reflect on their long marriage, revealing hidden aspects of what makes their relationship work, and what they mean to each other. Rich with humor, crisply written and relatable to multiple generations, Slow Food is a brilliant combination of humor and heart.

Slow Food runs Thursday through Saturday, July 20 to 22 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, July 23, 2:00 PM at the Vergennes Opera House, 120 Main Street, Vergennes.
